15 ( +1 | -1 ) U r lucky to havechess on TV at least once in a while but in Australia we never have chess on TV. It's all Rugby or Australian Footbal. They both s**. Excuse moy 4 dat mate.
How can you forget the brilliant Master Game series on British TV, with Nigel Short, Bill Hartston, , Robert Hubner, Larsen etc all playing in a BBC sponsored TV Tournament. The players spoke their thoughts after each move was made and expert analysts were also on hand to guide the viewers. The original was such a success that a second series was commissioned.
There were also books written after the series ended called "Master Game" and "Master Game 2". (both of which are in my chess library)
Hope this refreshes your memory !! (mind you, you would have to be older than 20 to remember them !!)
